5nl Multiway pot. Did I make huge mistake on turn?
Hey guys,
This hand is from 5nl and Basically Im wondering if I had a better option than to check this turn card. On the flop I chose to raise the utg bet basically because I had seen the bettor lead flops with very trashy to medium strength hands. I also didnt worry too much about the MP call, I pegged him on a draw or maybe a Jack. In either case I expected them both to come along. An interesting Turn card came though.. My immediate reaction when the card came off was to just pot it , but the MP tanked for a good 10 seconds and then decided to check... I guess it threw me off a bit and I decided to check and call any reasonable river bets. Anyway here is the hand:
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
BB ($3.42)
UTG ($5.67)
MP ($6)
Hero (Button) ($14.83)
SB ($10.27)
Preflop: Hero is Button with 9 , J
UTG calls $0.05, MP (poster) checks, Hero calls $0.05, 1 fold, BB checks
Flop: ($0.22) 4 , 7 , 9 (4 players)
BB checks, UTG bets $0.15, MP calls $0.15, Hero raises to $1.10, 1 fold, UTG calls $0.95, MP calls $0.95
Turn: ($3.52) J (3 players)
UTG checks, MP checks, Hero checks
River: ($3.52) Q (3 players)
UTG bets $0.50, MP calls $0.50, Hero calls $0.50
Total pot: $5.02 | Rake: $0.20
After the hand was over I wanted to shoot myself, Am I really that afraid of MP having 8T there? I think I just played too scared but im not sure, any suggestions?
