Default 25NL Trying this table-starting thingie

Like 10th hand into the match, no reads, except this is his 3rd 3bet since we sat down.

    What's the best line here?

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (2 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB ($24.50)
    Hero (SB) ($25.43)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J, A
Hero bets $0.75, BB raises to $2, Hero calls $1.25

    Flop: ($4) K, 5, 6 (2 players)
    BB bets $4.25

    Total pot: $4

You're playing a big pot here, it's just a matter of how you want to go about it.

I don't hate a raise now intending to get it in. Fail that, I'm floating and getting it in on any turn card.

I would fold - heres why: I put him on 99-KK, Kx, 10Jh or nothing. We are behind in almost every situation. We have 10+ outs but with heads up play there are more cards in the deck. I would fold sounds like their aggressive and will pay you on a less dangerous flop.

Advantages to raise/call over just shoving Fnord? You think theres a few worse hands that call or shove over than call a shove?
Just dipping my toes back in.

Omg more cards in the deck! Like, what, 58-60? Give or take?

I like shoving here but it's hard to say with so little history/reads, especially his c-bet, Aggro factor and frequency on the flop.

Well if it was full ring your odds of hitting the a card you need is 10% higher .. Which is alot over time. Lets try to focus on productive commentary.

And how did you come up with that conclusion?

Ok when responding I see the error in my logic. Haha That's what I get for doing this on my phone during work. I still fold : )

    How's this line of thinking:

He probably still has a pretty wide range here, so we have some decent FE if we shove, and still have good pot equity when we're called, and the pot is huge?

because it's obvious as hell that you have a flush draw when you ship it in
some people will snap call 99 here because they think shove = flush draw

but if you make it just big enough so you can call it off, then it looks scary
hell, just minraise to 8.5 and call it off

folding is quite bad, we don't always have to have the best hand yo

This is how I am thinking too. Floating is a worse option IMO, because when we miss our equity plummets, and when we hit our FE is too high. Same is true for raising flop especially since its OOP.

Edit: Would you shove or raise with 55? IMO we should play a set and a nut flush draw the same way in this hand. I like to have strong equity hands in my range when shoving or raising here.

Since you were the SB I assume you checked into him? Would a bet into him have been a better move here.

It is heads up so the SB actually has position in this situation thus the BB lead out betting.
