Default 25NL - Middle Overpair vs. LAG

Another hand I found myself a bit lost on a bit, can you guys help me with how to better play this?

Folding on the turn seems awfully nitty to me and raising just folds out worse. Normally by the river, range would be 22, overpairs, 4x, maybe a busted flush draw, Jxs which all have us crushed.

This is a pretty good size river bet, does villain bet 3 streets with air enough to call this river?

Any other suggestions on what to do on previous streets, thank you!

Villain is 40/20/inf over 20 hands.

If your plan was to call down, you have to call the river bet. You've given him no reason to believe you don't have any air, so his bet could easily be something like ace high or a 2 or a 8. There's no reason to believe he has a 4 or J here.

That said, if you want to avoid a difficult decision, you should have bet the turn or check-raised. There's no reason for you not to raise him on the turn, there's $7.50 in the pot + the $4 he has, if you have the best hand, time to take it down.

i dont mind calling him down much and i dont mind leading into him and b/fing each street.

check/raising is very poor on any street.
